It takes all of us

A relay is a team effort, just like our life-saving research.

Over 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the UK each year and less than half will survive five years beyond their diagnosis.

But together we can change this

What is the BIA Research Relay?

The BIA Research Relay 2021 is a virtual fundraising event taking place throughout the month of May. Sign up as a company team and complete 1000km; your way! Whether you decide to run, walk, cycle or swim, you can split the distance between the team and clock up the kilometres in your own way!

Log your kilometres as you achieve them and get to that goal together!

Could your team raise £1 for every kilometre you complete?

Can I take part as a team?

The BIA Research Relay is a team challenge and a chance for you to join forces with your colleagues and complete 1000km; your way!

By creating a virtual team, you can raise more and stay connected with friends, family or colleagues. Your team can combine your efforts to collectively reach your target. If you have a range of abilities in your team, everyone can pick a distance and discipline that’s right for them.

If you choose to meet up in person with members of your team, follow the latest government guidance on social distancing to ensure you're completing your challenge in a safe way. The government's guidance can be found online here

How much do I need to raise?

We’re asking each team to aim to raise £1,000 which is £1 for every kilometre you complete. It's a great motivator and will help you and your supporters get you through the challenge. However much you raise, we're incredibly grateful for your support.

We’re here to support you as well, so if you’d like fundraising support contact us at or call 020 7380 1730. You can also take a look at our Tips & Resources page.
