I'm taking part in the Walk in Her Name Step Challenge in aid of Ovarian Cancer Action

In 2015, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the age of 35. I was so incredibly lucky to be diagnosed and treated so early on in the progression of the disease, as due to my age and history the doctors were convinced it was anything but Ovarian Cancer.

Had I not received such swift treatment it is unlikely I would be here today. I am hoping to raise money for research into this under funded cancer, and more importantly to raise awareness of the symptoms, regardless of age.

Bloating? Feeling full up too quickly? Stomach pains? Needing to pee often? Check for Ovarian Cancer....it probably won't be, but not checking could result in heart break.

We need to help women listen to their bodies, and we need to make sure medics listen to women.

Every year, 295,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer globally. Approximately half of these women will not survive beyond five years.

March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and I’m taking 295,000 steps throughout the month to raise funds for life-saving research that will help these women, and the next generation, survive.

Please help me take 295,000 steps, raise £295 and help us make ovarian cancer a survivable disease.
