For the first time ever, our research is at risk
But women diagnosed with ovarian cancer cannot wait. COVID-19 has paused some of our life-saving research. With your help, we can make up for lost time.
It takes all of us
A relay is a team effort, just like our life-saving research.
For the first time ever, our research is at risk, but women diagnosed with ovarian cancer cannot wait. COVID-19 has paused some of our life-saving research. We need you more than ever and with your help, we can make up for lost time.
You, us, our researchers; together, we can make the discoveries that will turn ovarian cancer into a disease that can be diagnosed early, treated kindly and one day, cured for good.

Choose your distance
Use our mile matrix to choose a distance between two or more of our research locations. Why not pass on the baton by nominating a friend to complete a distance too? Or you could gather a team and divide the miles between you.
What is the Research Relay?
It’s a virtual fundraising event taking place throughout the month of August. Walk, run or cycle the distance between two or more of our research locations across the UK. Use our mile matrix to pick your distance and aim to raise £1 for every mile you complete.
You could choose 55 miles and cycle, run or walk the distance from Glasgow to Edinburgh, two of our BriTROC centres. Or it could be 120 miles, the distance of travelling from the Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre in London to Professor Ahmed's lab at the University of Oxford and back again.
Or if you're looking for the ultimate challenge, could you and your team complete the 616 miles between all of our research centres?
Can I take part as a team?
Yes! You can complete your own Research Relay as a personal challenge or gather a team, pick a distance and divide the miles between you.
By creating a virtual team you can raise more and stay connected with friends, family or colleagues. Your team can compete to see who completes the most miles, or combine your efforts to collectively reach your target. If you have a range of abilities in your team, everyone can pick a distance that’s right for them.
If you choose to meet up in person with members of your team, follow the latest government guidance on social distancing to ensure you're completing your challenge in a safe way. The government's guidance can be found online here.
How much do I need to raise?
We’re asking you to aim to raise £1 for every mile you complete. It's a great motivator and will help you and your supporters get you through the challenge. However much you raise, we're incredibly grateful for your support.
We’re here to support you as well, so if you’d like fundraising support contact us at email@example.com or call 020 7380 1730. You can also take a look at our Tips & Resources page
